Engineering leader and founder who builds products, teams, and the organizations behind them.

I’ve spent 15+ years building mobile products, engineering teams, and the platforms they run on. My career has progressed from writing code, to leading teams, to running engineering organizations, and now to operating a company end-to-end.

A consistent theme throughout that progression has been stepping into whatever the organization needed next. I’ve often built teams and capabilities from 0-to-1, scaled them as they grew, and then either moved on to build the next thing or continued as the direct leader while taking on broader responsibilities. That has meant working across the IC and management tracks, building new organizations, hiring and developing engineers and managers, and solving problems that didn’t always fit neatly into a job title.

Along the way, I’ve managed distributed teams across the US, Europe, and India. I tend to gravitate toward the parts of software that make everything else possible: developer productivity, organizational design, and the messy details of actually shipping.

Since 2024, I’ve been building BetterKey, an independent connected-car software company. The product is a consumer app spanning iOS, Apple Watch, widgets, Live Activities, Siri, and smart-home platforms, integrated with automotive APIs and vehicle manufacturers.

I run the company end-to-end: product strategy, engineering, UX, business development, sales, marketing, partnerships, customer development, pricing, analytics, acquisition, distribution, and operations. The mobile apps and Go backend are mine; so are the pricing page, the sales calls, and the partnership conversations.

Selected work

  • Scaled Compass Mobile from 2 to 25 engineers, joining as the second mobile engineer.
  • Founded and led a 3-team, 9-person Mobile Infrastructure organization at Compass.
  • Consolidated Tandem’s platform and infrastructure teams into a 7-person organization spanning mobile and embedded pump software.
  • Cut Tandem mobile engineering operating costs by 50% and reduced mobile build times by 75%, from roughly 1 hour to 15 minutes.
  • Closed 12 senior+ engineering hires in three months at Bitrise as the company’s first US engineering hire and US recruiting lead.
  • Built and shipped BetterKey solo and run the business end-to-end, spanning product, engineering, sales, marketing, partnerships, and operations.

    Senior Principal Engineer · Tandem Diabetes Care San Diego, CA

    Founded and led the company’s first Mobile Infrastructure team, then brought it together with the embedded platform team into a single 7-person organization spanning mobile and embedded pump software. Began hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the combined team as it grew. Cut mobile engineering operating costs by 50% and reduced mobile build times by 75%, from roughly 1 hour to 15 minutes.

  3. Jan – Aug 2022

    Engineering Manager · Staff Engineer · Bitrise Budapest, Hungary

    First US engineering hire; led US recruiting and closed 12 senior+ engineers in three months. Led technical due diligence on Bazel technologies that contributed to the acquihire of Flare.dev. Delivered a Release Automation MVP in two months.

    Founded and led a 3-team, 9-person Mobile Infrastructure organization covering Core Platform, Performance & Monitoring, and Release Automation. Served on the Engineering Promotion Committee and as a Sev1 incident leader.

    Senior Software Engineer · Team Lead · Compass New York, NY

    Founded and led the Core Platform team. Lead architect for Compass’s modular mobile architecture. Led remote onboarding of a new Hyderabad development team. Led engineering for Compass Sign.

  6. 2016 – 2017

    Software Engineer · Compass New York, NY

    Joined as the second mobile engineer and helped scale the mobile organization from 2 to 25 engineers. Completed a full Swift rewrite of the iOS app in one quarter and reduced third-party dependencies from 25 to 4.

  7. 2015 – 2016

    Lead Mobile Engineer · Tonic Design Co. Philadelphia, PA

    Led the Hinge iOS rewrite in Swift and the Hollister / Abercrombie & Fitch migration from a native web app to Objective-C.
